Celebrating Success: Pieter Benade’s Inspiring Visit to Bryden

We were delighted to welcome Bryden alumni Pieter Benade, Head Coach of the Sables, along with Captain Hilton Mudariki and Vice Captain Kudzai Mashawi, for an unforgettable visit to our school. As the first stop on their tour through Zimbabwe, Pieter was eager to return the trophy to where it all began—right here at Bryden Country School.

Peter fondly reminisced about his days as a Bryden player and the core values that shaped him during his time here. Reflecting on his experiences, he shared how being part of a small school like Bryden fostered a sense of community and helped students become multiskilled. With smaller numbers, everyone had the opportunity to try their hand at various roles, developing diverse abilities both on and off the field.

He emphasized the power of teamwork and the importance of leadership, urging our young athletes to uplift one another and work together to achieve their best. Pieter also shared success stories of other Bryden alumni who have excelled in various fields, reminding us all of the pride we share in being part of this vibrant community.

Our 1st, 2nd, and Colts A Rugby Teams were honored to meet these inspiring figures, gaining valuable insights into leadership, resilience, and the importance of giving back. Pieter’s visit reinforced the idea that each of us plays a crucial role in our school and community.

Let’s continue to carry forward the Bryden spirit, proud to be part of our small but mighty school in the heart of Zimbabwe!
